African Safari

Seeing wildlife up close and personal and in their own habitat is hard to beat. Add wonderful scenery and it’s a memorable experience. African safari vacations have become very popular and there are numerous companies that provide packages designed to bring a bit of adventure under expert supervision. Accommodation is usually in lodges and camps, equipped with hot showers. Meals and barbecues are prepared by the company cook.

Kenya is one of the main destinations for this type of vacation and a beach holiday could be combined with an African safari. The country has 40 National Parks and game reserves. One of the most spectacular is the Kimana Game Sanctuary, which is located at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro. Rich rain forest is the terrain at the Mount Kenya National Park and stretching plains dominate the Masai Mara. Guides drive parties in 4×4 vehicles or in open back trucks. Sometimes, they travel in mini buses. For an aerial view of the landscape, there are fly/drive packages, using small, light aircraft. Kenya brings opportunities to see leopards, gazelle, crocodiles, giraffes, zebra, lions and hippos. Continue reading →

Cheap Hotel rates

It seems that no matter how hard we try to stay in touch with family and friends, time passes by and before you know it you can go days, weeks and even months without contacting people that you care about. Each year I make a vow that I am going to do a better job of staying in touch, but before long I let the busyness of day to day life get in the way of reaching out to others.

A few weeks ago a friend and I decided that we were going to take off for an overnight stay together and just catch up with what is going on in each otherís life. We thought we could find cheap hotel rooms and stay close to home so that the majority of our time would not be spent on the road and so we would not have to spend a great deal of money. We needed cheap hotel rooms because we were each going to book one. I love my friend dearly, but she snores so loudly that I cannot get any sleep if I am in the same room with her. She is so self conscious about the snoring that she does not sleep well either, so it is better for us if we look for cheap hotel rooms and rent two of them. Continue reading →

Adventure Tour Company

Recently my best friend recommended going on a trip together with an adventure tour company. We have been friends since we were very little, and have often contemplated going on adventures. As we have grown, however, our lives have become less and less adventurous. This is inevitable, but it still seems like a shame. We figured that if we went to an adventure travel agency, they could help us relive one of our dreams. We could climb a mountain, sail across a great body of water, or do one of many other adventures that we had always contemplated. In general, we are pretty sedentary people, but we have big dreams. Beach house rentals

The summer months are such a great time to get away. When the hot weather hits many people decide to go to the beaches and to cabins by lakes. This is the booming time for resort owners and camp ground managers. The airlines also fill most of the flights during this time. My husband and I no longer have children in the home so we do not have to work around school schedules. Because of this we have found that if we plan our vacations for the early part of May of the end of September we still have great weather, but we do not have to contend with the crowds or the peak season prices.
